Software Test Architect – Infotainment (R&D)

About us
Volvo Cars is the first brand to launch vehicles with an Infotainment system based on Android Automotive. We do this in close collaboration with Google and other major technology providers. We have the best infotainment system on the market, and we intend to keep it that way. To achieve this, Volvo Cars is transforming into a truly software-driven company. We value creativity, diversity, and inclusion.

On Infotainment, our engaged and agile development teams work with the Android platform, Android Automotive Apps, Audio, Connectivity, Driver Information, Entertainment, Personalization, and Vehicle Functions (e.g., climate control). We apply the latest software development practices, and the development teams are actively engaged in our Continuous Integration (CI) frameworks and collaboration tools.

About the role
As a Test Architect, you are the guardian of our quality- and test strategy that enables a continuous flow of highquality customer value from our development teams. Volvo Cars has several integration levels, and you will work to align test strategies between these levels together with other stakeholders and bring what is relevant to our strategy.

You will work together with our system architects, our tech leads and our developers to establish sound architectural principles and adherence to our strategy for testability and quality. You will have a close dialog with CI to optimize test scopes and ensure testing is enabled. You will coach the teams in solid development practices with a focus on quality, test design, and test analysis. Together with other passionate people in the test community on Volvo Cars, you are part of strengthening the SW test culture.

When you are not working with our strategies, our architecture, or coaching our teams, you will participate in the development of our test frameworks and our test environment.

About you
We believe that you have a MSc. or BSc. in a relevant academic field. You have extensive experience with largescale software testing operations based on continuous integration and apply software testing principles. (5+ years) You have worked with various test automation frameworks, e.g., PyTest. You are familiar with high-level programming languages like Python, C++, and Java. and you do not hesitate to develop the tools that you need to achieve your desired quality results. You understand and can balance between the challenges of both testing and development.

As a quick learner, you do not hesitate to explore and apply new tools or techniques. You solve problems with creativity, collaboration, and skillful application of various technologies. You are a team player who easily moves between different scopes and contexts in discussions. Feedback is something that you value to both receive and share with others.

Location: Gothenberg, Lindholmen office.
