Avalanche Studios is the original creator of the award-winning Just Cause franchise (published by Square Enix), the developer of Mad Max (published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) and is currently working on Rage 2 (published by Bethesda Softworks), scheduled for release in 2019. As a publisher, Avalanche Studios has brought free-to-play service theHunter Classic to market and reached more than 7 million registered players across 190 countries. The theHunter franchise was expanded in 2017 to also include premium title theHunter: Call of the Wild, which was released for PC and subsequently console platforms. Avalanche Studios, which is based in Stockholm, New York City and Malmö, was founded in 2003 by Christofer Sundberg and Linus Blomberg. The studio develops games using its proprietary Apex technology, enabling huge open worlds filled with emergent gameplay.

The Position
We are seeking an experienced gameplay programmer to work within a mid sized team on our self published title. At Avalanche Studios you will work with some of the industry's most exciting open world technology and talented individuals from varied backgrounds.

As a gameplay programmer on this project you will work with our team to design and implement elements of scripted and emergent world and simulation content, as well as player interactions. You will develop and maintain the tools and systems necessary for designers to create missions, build complex gameplay mechanics, and tweak and balance the user experience.

We are looking for someone that is passionate about games and thrives in a fast-paced development environment. Our organization is agile, allowing us to make decisions and course corrections without long turnaround times. Required qualifications
Excellent C++ skills
Familiarity with AI, physics, animation and gameplay code in general
Basic understanding of the possibilities and challenges modern console hardware architectures imposes on game code
At least one shipped game title

Desired qualifications
Experience working on multiplayer games
Experience from character scripting, animation and behaviour trees
Experience from profiling and optimizations
Experience from developing tools and asset pipelines
Experience with game design processes
