Senior Big Data Platform Engineer

We have a number of exciting opportunities for Big Data Platform Engineers to join Kings Data Analytics function.

The Data Analytics team is responsible for processing the billions of rows of data we receive each day and using it to drive all of King's data and analytics needs. You will provide data across multiple platforms to a number of different internal departments, including our game studios, Performance Marketing, and Player Communications Technology, working in close collaboration with your colleagues in our ever-expanding, multi-location Data Analytics team.

Your role within our Kingdom

Maintain and scale Kings data pipeline in the face of phenomenal growth
Work to standardize our data processing logic so that we have a single source of the truth
Own one of many continuous improvement projects to expand the capacity and performance of our platform
Help us decide how best to provide multiple environments for development, QA, etc in a big/massive data setting
Support Data Analytics implementation of new tools to increase the robustness of our end-to-end data chain (monitoring dashboard, scheduler, etc)
Work with the team to enhance our version control and release processes

Skills to create thrills
Feel comfortable working in a UNIX/Linux shell, and have an ability to write complex bash (or other shell) scripts
Are familiar with at least one programming language
Can write SQL in your sleep
Know the difference between a B-tree and a hash table
Have worked with big (preferably massive) data and technologies like Hadoop (HDFS/MapReduce)
Bonus points if you know your way around the entire Berkeley Data Analytics Stack
Have experience with columnar/in-memory databases (Exasol, Vertica, etc)
Are familiar with data warehouse applications, ETL flows, reporting tools, etc
Ideally have experience working in a startup-esque/open-source-heavy environment
