Who We Are
Active Trips is a marketplace for training and activity trips. We make it easy for people to find, get inspired and book unique active experiences through a strong online presence - website and social media. We have started off our business with training trips.

We connect Swedish travel agencies with consumers, anyone with the interest to live and have an active life. We offer everything from high adrenaline mountain climbing adventure in Nepal to blissful mediation and yoga retreat in India. Currently we have Swedish travel agencies and we’re marketing our site towards the Swedish consumer market.

What Have We Accomplished until Now?
1. Launched the Active Trips marketplace with more than 150 trips and over 4000 visitors and a blog with interesting posts of prominent sport profiles, agencies and reportages.
2. Built an MVP, making it easy for travel agencies to upload their trips and have their own presentation and for consumers to find meaningful journeys and send booking requests to their preferred supplier.
3. Selected by Tillväxtverket, Startup Sweden, as one of 10 prominent start-ups in Sweden for their accelerator program November 2018.
4. Developed a new brand strategy with Hyper Island. Which is going to be implemented Q1 2019.

I’m currently working towards scaling and growing the platform. We have built the MVP in Php framework Laravel (backend), and JavaScript framework Vue.js and MyDb/Mysql database. Up until now I’m the only founder and the marketplace has been developed by an external consultant.

What’s Our Future Opportunities?
We have a solid basic platform (MVP). Taking the next step in our growth journey we need to iterate on the best ways increasing the conversion rate and attracting new users. How about we improve our UX? OR bring some social add-ons to empower community engagement? OR should we discuss gamification with positive triggers? These are some of the questions, I’d love to have you involved so we together can determine Active Trips further development. I also believe that we need to build an intelligent engine for recommendations and automate the marketing.

Job Description
Now I’m looking for an experienced tech lead to direct the product roadmap, be the full-stack developer and join me as a co-founder. The immediate next step for you would be to study our code and understand our current platform in detail. And re-designing the service for SEO and according our new brand strategy. I want you to have opinions on everything, from tech stack choices, scalability challenges and deployment issues to issues to product features and business model.

You Are:
• Strategic minded and highly analytical.
• A team player who really loves Active Trips’ vision, you’re intrigued by ideas that has both potential and big heart.
• Creative, curious, expressive, imaginative and brave.

Requirements:
• Experience with software development at scale, especially relevant with event-, ticketing, web shops or e-commerce products.
• Skills to make right technological and design choices for a growth architecture, ease of use and flawless design. I encourage you to take part in all important decisions regarding the business as my partner.
• Capable of building and leading a coming world-class tech team.
