At the moment we are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Video Hosting Systems group within the New Business team.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Axis Video Hosting System (AVHS) is a Linux based video surveillance system that offers our customers video surveillance services and video hosting in the cloud. The products has tens of thousands concurrent users with high demands on software security, robustness and stability.
AVHS is also a rapidly growing system and the demands on scalability are getting higher as the product matures. Therefore, an important part of this role is to make sure that the software enables the system to grow in an optimal and scalable way. You will be working with database tuning and query optimization, taking major responsibility for your area of expertise. You will have great opportunities to influence the technical solutions.
In order to do this you need to have a good understanding of the software and its structure. You will be working in close relation to our customers, creating an interface between Axis and those responsible for hosting the system.
You will be part of a highly agile team with dedicated colleagues who are open to new ideas. Creativity and innovation is always encouraged, and the work you do will be noticed and make a difference.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
This is an important role, where you will be the expert within your competence area. We believe that you are comfortable taking responsibility, questioning status quo and driving and developing AVHS to align with the growing scalability demands. As a person you are structured and you enjoy interacting with customers and colleagues.
You have experience in:
* Database tuning
* Query optimization
* Database development
* Relational databases
* MySQL
* Working with large systems
* Minimum 3 years relevant working experience
It is also an advantage, but not a demand, that you have:
* Experience in hosting large systems
* Experience of working in an agile team

OUR NEW BUSINESS TEAM
The New Business team is a unique group within Axis. The group is responsible for both evaluating new business ideas from a technical and a commercial perspective, and product development to offer customers the best products on the market. The team has market oriented business development resources as well as product development resources.
The VHS group is responsible for the AVHS (Axis Video Hosting Solution) product within the New Business team. The AVHS product is supporting the majority of all existing and new products that Axis is developing and is in the forefront of video security surveillance systems and continuously adds new innovative features and technology.
