Senior Mobile Developer

Mutate is in an phase of expansion and currently has several open positions. We are actively looking for passionate developers to join our engine team in Stockholm. You will be working with skilled colleagues and be part of an exciting project, where we are creating a gaming engine and platform for virtual worlds of the future.

This application is for a person that is going to take lead in customizing the experience for mobile platforms and users. You will be responsible for the development of the mobile branch and help set the requirements of the engine to best suit these platforms.

You will be part of a small team and need to be comfortable working in a fast paced agile environment, where you take your own initiatives. Each team member has an important influence on the project and is involved in the decision-making process.

You should have a positive attitude, be dedicated, team-spirited and love a challenge.

What will you do at Mutate?
As a senior and lead mobile developer you will be responsible for guiding our team in understanding and adapting to the limitations of specific mobile platforms. Further will be responsible for designing and implementing suitable user interfaces and controls.

You will have to set requirements and limitation as well as implement ways of running our engine and code base on a mobile platform. Also creating a tailored solution for how to best enable users to interact within the limitations of a mobile device.

Requirements
- Strong skills in C++, ideally for mobile development.
- Professional mobile game or engine development experience.
- Experience developing with either or both of Android NDK and/or iOS with C++/Objective C.
- Strong understanding of user experience and interactions within a mobile platform.

Good To Have
- Knowledge of or experience using toolchains, build systems, development tools and platform APIs, as well as the broader Android or iOS platform ecosystem.
- Mobile game shipping experience, especially related to compatibility.
- Understanding of various mobile GPUs used in popular handsets and their characteristics.
- Experience using a next-generation rendering API such as Vulkan or Metal.
