Here’s the deal
As the tech firm that enabled the mobile internet connectivity around the world, at Ericsson we’ve made it our business to make a mark. Ericsson Packet Core has never had a greater opportunity to drive change; setting the bar for technology to be inclusive and accessible; empowering an intelligent, sustainable and connected world.
We are on a quest, we´ve promised to never stand still; relentlessly innovating to make technology easy to adopt, easy to use and easy to scale. This demands from all our people the creativity to discover, the accountability to deliver and the courage to remove complexity wherever it presents itself. Your commitment to these qualities will always be expected, and never go unnoticed. As a team, we are helping to solve some of society´s most complicated challenges, enabling you to be ‘the person that did that’.
Tech you’ll master
With us at Ericsson Packet Core you’ll be part of the next step in our development of our products. We enable millions of simultaneous connected mobile users while handling traffic from IoT to 4K video in Gbit speeds. All of this in a virtual deployment using containers.
For this you will learn to master cutting edge technology in IP networks, distributed real time embedded systems.
The Ericsson Gothenburg office with our beautiful scenery and modern facilities is located at Lindholmen. We’re next to Chalmers and the university, with other cutting-edge tech companies and the Lindholmen Science Park as our closest neighbors. We have plenty of opportunities for learning, networking and collaboration in this vivid and energetic area, where art and science meet. There are also a wide range of restaurants for your convenience.
We at Ericsson Packet Core (PC) in Lindholmen are now looking for talented testers wanting to join our product development. Our headquarters is based in Lindholmen (Gothenburg, Sweden), but we also have operations in Shanghai and Madrid as well as strong dependencies to platform development in Budapest, Beijing and Bangalore.
At the PDG Gateway we are responsible for the development and release of EPG products. Much of the testing is done by the cross-functional development teams, but we also have teams dedicated to performing extensive regression verification. We take pride in that we have automated most of the test execution and parts of the analysis of test results, since this enables fast feedback loops.
We are looking for a skilled, self-motivated and service-minded Tester who loves in depth troubleshooting.
• You care about quality and about customers and you have a passion for finding faults
• You love troubleshooting and digging into complex problems where it is not evident what causes the failed checkpoints or other symptoms you see
• You like scripting and automating tasks so you can focus on the fun troubleshooting instead
• You like working in teams and sharing your knowledge with others
• You have an energetic, positive “we can do it” attitude towards challenges
About the role
We have test teams in Lindholmen, Shanghai and Chennai. Each site has its own OPO but works according to a joint backlog covering test cases for LSV, release and maintenance branches. This means a high degree of autonomy in each team, but also a high degree of cross-site collaboration. This approach requires a large amount of teamwork and maturity, but we believe it’s the best way to create great team spirit while managing a large test scope.
• To understand our product, it is essential to comprehend IP protocols and IP-based routing in an embedded environment, 3GPP standards, and UNIX/LINUX
• To be an excellent tester you should understand Test Methodology and Test Automation
• To understand our test scripts and verdict system, you should know Python
• Git knowledge is an advantage
Minimum Experience Requirements
• BSc/MSc level in Computer Science or the equivalent level of knowledge
• Fluent in English, written and oral.
