Android Developer to SVT

Stockholm Headhunting has been commissioned to find an Android Developer to SVT. You will be part of the app team that works with both SVT News and SVT Sports.

Long Story Short

SVT is the national public service television company. They aim to create content that engages, entertains and enriches in the service of the public. Therefore they are everywhere: online, on air – on all digital platforms. SVT interactive develop and maintain all of SVT:s digital products. Currently they have five teams working with News and Sports, responsible for their web services as well as their native apps for Android and iOS. Their users mean everything to them and they involve them as much as possible when they develop.

In total, SVT interactive has some +120 employees, with a great mix of people. They are from many different nationalitets and have many different personalities and interests. They can offer you a workplace where learning is in focus, where they take great care of each other. For example, every other week they have a hack day where you can work on any project you'd like, alone or with your team.

The Details

Every month, millions of people choose to use SVT News and SVT Sports when they want to see or read something they are curios about – or just stay up-to-date with the latest. You will be a part of the team that are responsible for both their news- and sports app. The team also works in close collaboration with other teams building SVT:s news and sports offering. They builds their services on modern architecture and in modern ways. The Android apps are built in Kotlin and currently they are implementing a new back end built in Kotlin as well. Their teams are self-governing and their product strategies aim to enable innovation and creativity. They strive to be hypothesis driven and most of their teams have chosen mob development as their method.

The Missing Link

As a developer in SVT's News and Sports App team you will get to work with a wide range of challenging tasks; from UI to back end, from building pipelines to testing. You think that what they do and how they work sounds interesting. You think it will be awesome to be part of a small team where they value discussions, having fun and delivering the right products.

You are curious, unpretentious and love solving problems. You are probably an experienced Android developer that has worked with Java and/or Kotlin and are comfortable with teamwork. It would be great if you are interested in more stuff than just the app: backend, CI/CD, dev ops - you name it.
