Volvo Group Connected Solutions (VGCS) provides connected services to the Volvo Group. We enable & accelerate customer-oriented off-board connected service development & delivery. Our solutions exist in Volvo Group products in Europe, Asia, US and South America.

THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
The Technology function within VGCS is accountable for the development, delivery and operation of the complete off-board connected solutions platform(s) including shared framework and common solutions/services one-time and run-time. The Technology Core Functions delivers and maintains the core platform for Volvo Group Connected Solutions such as vehicle communication, subscription management, activation and master data integration.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a very Senior Architect with fresh Java developer skills.
As senior Architect in the core area you are responsible for driving the architectural roadmap for our micro services platform forward as well as continuous support to our delivery organization. We are organized into domain teams with DevOps responsibility in each team. We work in 2 week sprints and in 10 week SAFe train iterations.
For this position we put high focus on interpersonal skills and attitude. You have a genuine interest in leadership and strong coaching capabilities. You have a proven record of the ability to take decisions and create strong networks. You are passionate for people, customer value and technology.

All together you will drive improvement and agenda of the existing and future of our platform – the fundament of Volvo Group Connected solutions deliveries. We do not only develop on-request, but also helps the stakeholder to identify the optimal solution concept.

Key Responsibilities
•Responsible for continuous update of target architecture of Core part of our micro services platform
•Support to DevOps teams to execute on target and plans
•Support to DevOps teams in critical deliveries – hands on architectural work, design and development
•Drive exploration of new technologies that have potential to improve our offer and our way of working
•Track and report progress in deliveries regarding fulfillment of target architecture
•Mentor projects, teams and team members
•Take the role as Architectural Reviewer of deliveries

WHO ARE YOU?
The Senior Architect core area needs to have the ability to work under demanding and changing conditions. As person you are structured, target oriented and eager to deliver on time, cost and quality. You have a positive mindset and a business oriented attitude, and understand the challenges of application development, quality assurance, deployment, operation and maintenance. You enjoy teamwork, contribute with team spirit and you like taking responsibility. You need to be able to keep a constructive and cooperative relation with stakeholders also at times when all demands cannot be met. You are an experienced Architect and you have fresh skills in Java, on a level where you can guide developers.

Required competencies
•A university degree in engineering or computer science or similar
•A solid experience as Software Architect
•Experience from software engineering and agile development, including release procedures
•Experience from service operation and support
•Experience from automotive industry and preferably also telematics, connected vehicles
•A global and agile mindset with strong customer focus
•Have capacity to execute against set targets
•Ability to establish and maintain good relations with partners and stakeholders
•Fluent in English - both written and spoken
