One of the doers we are looking for is a Senior Backend Engineer. This is a great chance to join us in building our new portfolio of services and products; aiming at transforming the manufacturing industry . In this position, you are based in our brand-new office at Regeringsgatan, in the heart of Stockholm, and global travel is a natural part of the job.

Job Summary
In this role, you play a vital part in developing our tech stack by combining your interest for new technology with a passion for solving hard manufacturing problems. You take lead in technical decisions for our backend strategy, building scalable micro services and ensuring high quality in a fast-paced environment.

Your responsibilities
• Build distributed and scalable micro-services
• Deploy cross-cloud services on AWS, Azure and GCP
• Design and develop APIs, enabling other developers to consume micro-services through a self-service model
• Implement DevOps culture in collaboration with Infrastructure Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers
• Mentor and support junior engineers

Your skills and qualifications
You have a BSc or higher in Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience gained from a working career. As our team at Sandvik CODE is truly international, you have great communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing. Other required skills and experiences are:

• Data structures and algorithms
• Golang, C++, C#, Java or equivalent compiled programming language
• AWS, Azure, GCP or other cloud platforms
• Microservices and API design
• Message queuing and streaming, RabbitMQ, PubSub, Kafka or similar
• An irrevocable curiosity for new technologies, programming languages and frameworks

Bonus skills
• Linux
• Python, JavaScript or equivalent scripting language
• Container technology, LXC or Docker
• Container orchestrators, Kubernetes or equivalent
• Relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres
• Document databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB
