Junior iOS Engineer

Hi! My name is Erik and I am Head of App Engineering at Blocket. I am now looking for a creative, driven and curious developer to join our group of around ten app developers.

What will you be working on?

As an app developer at Blocket you will be working on both new features and maintenance of an app used by over a million users (growing every day!) and you will contribute to one of the most recognized and loved services in Sweden. We are proud of being a part of the secondhand movement by creating opportunities for our users and supporting a more sustainable future.

Our apps have undergone many design and technical revisions. We strive to write maintainable and clear code that is testable, and we use continuous integration and code reviews to ensure we make it right.

When we see a new technology or pattern that may benefit our apps and product we don't hesitate to become early adopters and position ourselves ahead of the curve.

We were early adopters of Swift at Blocket and has since moved the majority of our code base over to a Swift-only architecture. While you will be digging into the odd Objective-C here and there, our goal is to be 100% Swift down the road and we hope you like that idea.

Who will you be working with?

Our teams at Blocket are cross-functional, so while you will spend a lot of time interacting and working with your fellow app developers, you will also be working closely with other developers, UI/UX designers, testers and product owners. Thus it is important that you are communicative and that you are able to discuss technical questions and problems both with your peers and with colleagues working in other fields.
