The Job.
We are looking for an experienced engineer with knowledge of database administration and database development, with knowledge in datawarehouse and a strong desire to take large datawarehousing into cloud-based environments.

Expected tasks and deliverables:
Maintain the database Servers, review the database setups and configurations and where possible find and propose areas for improvements.
Support developers with database models and design and query optimizations.
Integration of new systems into the existing environment.
Document the current environment and define plan of evolution.
Identify the cause of problems, document, and develop solutions.
Design and develop automated, complex, and efficient ETL processes.
Develop processes to match and clean datasets, problem solve, and optimize performance.
Develop detailed ETL specifications based on business requirements.
Leverage cloud-based infrastructures to create efficient processing pipelines.

Previous experience:
Strong experience with MS SQL Server administration and database design.
Strong experience with T-SQL and advanced coding concepts, and usage of tools such as Profiler, Management Studio, SQL Server Data Tools.
Strong experience with ETL, SSIS, SSAS and preferably some knowledge of Hadoop stack of technologies: Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, or Storm.
Understanding of HDFS, Hadoop architecture and Map Reduce concepts.
Knowledge of HA (High Availability) and load balancing solutions.
Experience in cloud based projects for big data.

Education and work experience:
University degree with minimum 5 years experience in IT.
Excellent experience working as DBA in MSSQL2005/2008/2012.
Excellent experience in database design and optimization techniques (both from DBA perspective and from development side).
Excellent experience working with big databases (>100Gb).
Fluent in English.
