COMSOL AB is seeking an engineer or physicist with an interest in continuum mechanics to join its development team in Stockholm.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in finite element analysis, solid mechanics, and numerical methods. Experience in any kind of material modeling (elastoplasticity, hyperelasticity, poroelasticity, piezoelectricity, composites, etc.) is desirable.

The position is in our structural mechanics development team. Development projects typically include the interaction with experts in other physics fields such as acoustics, fluid mechanics, and electromagnetism.

Most of the development is done using our own tools, the Physics Builder and the Application Builder, but we also use Java and C/C++.

Primary Responsibilities

* Implement new functionality, especially material models, in existing and new products.
* Maintain the code base.
* Write specifications for new functionality and GUI design.
* Assist the support and sales departments with challenging modeling problems.
* Develop example models and apps.
* Write technical documentation.

Requirements

* Ph.D. or M.S. with excellent merits. Continuum mechanics, physics, or applied mathematics are suitable specializations.
* Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
* Interest and talent for developing well-structured code.
* Ability to quickly grasp new scientific topics.
* Interest in numerical simulations.
* Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written. We do not require Swedish language skills.
* Experience with COMSOL Multiphysics or other commercial finite element software is a merit.

COMSOL Offers

* A challenging opportunity to expand your knowledge in a wide variety of physics application areas, and to work on problems spanning all engineering fields.
* Working in highly creative and qualified teams with a diversity of experience.
* Casual atmosphere in our office located in downtown Stockholm.
