By using new technology Appland develops a game application platform with over 200 million end-users all over the world. The service is distributed through 60 mobile operators in over 200 countries and the industry is rapidly growing. The Company was founded in 2011 in Gothenburg, where the headquarter and lead development is based.

About the position
As a Software Engineer you will be part of a cross-functional team of skilled developers, today consisting of 20 people who handles everything from hosting, backend and frontend development (both web and native Android). Hopefully your field of interest lies within backend development!

Being a part of a fanatic scrum-team, your days start with daily stand ups and is followed by creating disruptive software innovations with team effort (sprint 201 now!). The cloud software platform is today hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and can handle 200+ million users. Now we're looking for someone who shares our passion!

Among other things you will:

* Create new services and features written in Node.JS/Javascript, PHP or Java running on Linux
* New features and performance optimization for existing services
* Help scale up databases via partitioning and other methods
* Bring in third party open source services as needed
* Implement big data analyzation

If desired, is it possible to broaden your experiences by developing for Android or web frontend in the future.

Sounds amazing! What skills are needed?

* Experience of developing backend systems in PHP or Node.JS/Javascript or Java
* Worked with databases (PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, MySQL, Presto)
* AWS / Azure, Docker, Linux experience is a plus.
* A genuine interest in software development and be a quick learner!
