Responsibilities

• Development and validation of TwinCAT code for machine automation, data acquisition, safety and communication
• Control system architecture
• Methodology for agile development and testing
• Verification and optimization of control functions on prototype equipment
• Creating of manuals, test reports, systems documentation and SOPs
• Component selection and supplier relations
• Supporting pilot installations in the field

• Data management system: MySQL

• Remote communication over fibre and radio links

Skills and qualifications

You have relevant experience as an automation or software engineer, preferably working with TwinCAT or CODESYS environment. You have a broad technical knowledge and interest in the different aspects of a control system including sensors, drives, communication and safety. Combining effective code with advanced mechanics and electronics into a robust system makes you happy. You may have a B.Sc or M.Sc. degree, but your personality and genuine interest in the field is the most important. You are proficient in English, both spoken and written.

ABOUT CORPOWER OCEAN

CorPower Ocean has developed a compact high-efficiency Wave Energy Converter, inspired by the pumping principles of the human heart. Using phase control technology the Wave Energy Converters operate in resonance with the waves, giving 5 times more energy per ton compared to the previous state-of-the-art. CorPower has a pilot project with the global power company Iberdrola Engineering & Construction and Portuguese WavEC Offshore Renewables, running a hardware-in-the-loop device at KTH in Stockholm while developing the next system for ocean deployment in the Atlantic during 2016.
