The department Propulsion Energy System is responsible for development of major parts of hybrid and electric vehicle systems at Volvo Cars. The group Charging Software is responsible for delivering software functionality, in regards of actual software deliveries, but also software and diagnostics requirements, for the on-board charger (OBC) and the DCDCs in our electrified vehicles.

The on-board charger (OBC) is essential for electrified vehicles, it holds the functionality to charge the traction battery from the grid, and it is for sure of highest importance in a pure electric vehicle. Both AC- and DC-charging are in current projects and wireless charging is already around the corner.

The DCDCs coverts energy from the traction battery to the low voltage system for suppling all the 12/48V power consumers in the car.

Our vision is to deliver the best functionality in the market for ChargingSoftware functionality and continuously evolve our way of working. We strive for a more modular platform that is suitable for our vision of continues integration/deployment and a higher focus on the product.

What will you do?
As a Function Developer you will be part of an agile, scrum development team that delivers state of the art functionality for the On-board charger. You will utilize a model based development (MBD) process with Matlab/Simulink and AUTOSAR framework/toolchain to realize functionality for different charging standards and logics in the vehicle.

You need to take an active role in review/understanding of the software requirements, implement the logics within the boundary of the requirement, perform unit tests to ensure the functionality and that no errors was introduced. As a part of the scrum team, together with the other Function developers and Model-In-the-Loop (MIL) testers you are a part of the process with daily meetings, sprint planning, time estimation and retroperspective, all for the purpose to improve ourselves and the way of working.

Main Responsibilities
* Review/understand software requirements
* Perform Model based development and testing in various test environments
* Perform peer review of implemented functionality
* Perform calibration activities in vehicle
* Analyze, fault trace and correct software bugs
* Interact with Volvo internal support team and suppliers about software design solutions

What do you need to have?
We believe that you have University degree (M. Sc. or B. Sc.) within engineering, preferably electronics, software engineering or equivalent competence. On top on this, you have some years’ experience with Model based development for embedded systems.
We are a global company so a must for us is that you are fluent in English. Also you should have a driving license (B), preferably you love cars as much as we do!

This is what you need to have. But we also have a few things that is nice to have!
Preferred Qualifications                         
* Experience of working as software/function developer
* Experience of Embedded system development
* Experience of product development within the automotive industry
* Experience of Power Electronic specially on-board charger functionality
* Knowledge of Autosar architecture  and development, especially the application layer
* Knowledge of charging standards like CCS and Chademo
