Embedded Software Engineer to Bromma

You will report to Manager, R&D Electrics and SW Sweden.You work in close cooperation with the Bromma R&D team, Bromma and Cargotec employees, other internal stakeholders and external vendors.The purpose of the position is to develop and maintain Bromma’s onboard software platforms. This includes machine control software on our distributed control systems, onboard diagnostics and prognostics, software to our onboard UI units, and software to our connectivity units. The software on Bromma’s spreaders is a key component in Bromma’s digitalization strategy and serves as a backbone to our cloud services which we believe will grow dramatically in the near future.We expect you to be a creative person with visions and ability to see new possibilities in order to improve our system to new levels. You will work closely with our software, electrical and mechanical engineers in Kista Sweden, Singapore, as well as in Ipoh Malaysia. An ability to look beyond your own part in the organization and see the customer’s needs as well as understanding the different functions within Bromma’s organization is essential for this position. You will work with interesting and challenging technology and in an inspiring international atmosphere. In this role you have the possibility to work with a lot of different technologies depending on your interests.To succeed in this role you ideally have:– Good knowledge and experience in Linux and C++.– Experience from software development on embedded systems. We use several technologies and experience from any of the following is a plus: C++, Linux, Yocto, OpenWrt, C, Python, Javascript, php, Qt, MQTT. For machine control we use CoDeSys.– M.Sc (Eng.) or B.Sc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent– Good communication skills in English, speaking and writing– Ability to travel occasionally– Good social ability, as working with the rest of the organization and directly towards our customers is essential to your successWe offer you a position in a global organization where you are challenged with interesting and diverse tasks within software development.
