Industrial Designer - Husqvarna Group

We are looking for an Industrial Designer who has a passion for product development and
innovative system solutions design, to join our fantastic design team in Stockholm.

The function
Global Design is a group function working cross functionally with products and solutions, and are responsible for design and user experience for all of the Husqvarna groups physical and digital products. An increasing part of our future initiatives is taking place in the intersection between physical and digital, product and service, and by merging technology and usability into one seamless experience, we aim to create "The best system solution for the user and user worlds in scope."

We are working with premium products for a premium brand creating premium design, user experience and system solutions. It is Industrial Design at its best, a perfect mix of design and technology, physical and digital.
As Husqvarna group are continuing it's digitization journey, we are building more connectivity and IoT solutions into our brands and products in order to create even greater value for our users, customers and their business. At Global Design you will be on the frontline in this exiting journey.
Your future team and environment

We are a highly creative and driven team of around 25 people within Industrial-, Surface-, Graphic- and UX design working at the main office in Stockholm. Global design also have local design operations in North America and Germany, with around 10 designers. You will be part of a highly experienced, talented and friendly team of design colleagues, and work in an multi-cultural, international atmosphere at a premium location, in the capital of Sweden.

What you will do - Key operational responsibilities
. Drive and support design projects from concept to final solutions in close co-operation with other disciplines and following the Husqvarna Group 'Product Creation Process' (PCP)
. Lead and participate in cross-functional workshops within the Global Design Team to ideate, form and shape concept solutions
. Work closely together with key stakeholders to push the boundaries of tech and design in the intersection of physical, digital and technology
. Efficiently generate design proposals through 2D and 3D visuals
. Develop and implement high quality design solutions according to brand design strategy and in relation to time, budget and manufacturing constraints
. Map scenarios and personas, help defining epic and user stories together with UX designers and product owners.
. Conduct interviews, perform usability tests and produce documentation together with UX designers and product owners.
. Support the wider team when needed
. Support and continuously participate in improving our way of work in order to achieve operational excellence

What we are looking for - competencies needed
. Bachelor or Master's degree in Industrial Design.
. 4+ years of relevant professional experience working as an Industrial Designer
. Strong communication and presentation skills in English and the ability to present ideas and goals effectively.
. Experience in designing handheld, professional and/or consumer oriented products.
. The ability to skillfully visualize form and translate design intentions to physical implementation through the use of 2D and 3D tools.
. Experience from working in cross-functional teams in a brand driven and user oriented business (Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills)
. Strong computer skills using programs such as Adobe CS, Alias, Rhino and KeyShot.
. Ability to regularly travel to domestic and international locations.
. You have the ability to build relationships, understand vision/direction, and how to translate customer needs into relevant design solutions in the development process.
. The ability to successfully drive complex projects within a budget and with a number of stakeholders and how to apply a design language based on key principles across a large product portfolio.
