We hope that it’s you.Your daily work will involve:Fishbrain as a company has several goals, both large and small. Our most important goal is building a product that our users enjoy, and to do so in a way that is sustainable and prepared for the future. Therefore we are looking for an experienced developer who will together with the team figuring out the next step for our product. And how to build it, is what being an engineer at Fishbrain is all about.On a daily basis, you will work in Ruby and Go and belong to one of our cross-functional teams. Experimenting and learning new technologies is important to us, which is why we’re curious of what you might bring to us. We tend to value technologies that allow us to be fast-moving when needed while at the same time balancing stability. We’re relying heavily on automated tests and iterating on solutions.What we are fishing for: We’re looking for an experienced developer with a problem solving mindset and someone who can see things through. You have previously built, deployed and monitored software in a cloud environment. You build software with the user’s needs and experience in your mind, even at large scale. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.Experience in design, build, and deploy highly scalable software systems (including microservices).Fluency in an OOP language, such as Ruby, Java, C++, or similar (Ruby strongly preferred).Experience in databases, operating system internals and networking are a plus.Our realityBeing a backend engineer at Fishbrain, you’ll be expected to work in a range of different projects. We’re running our service on AWS, mostly using Docker to run apps using AWS Fargate.
