Do you have a PhD degree in life science, statistics or computer science, preferably with several years of experience? If you have a keen interest and experience of AI, machine learning and database development this is a chance for you to lead and perform research and development efforts in various types of advanced chemical/pharmaceutical projects. You will be part of an experienced section where you will apply your knowledge and experience together with dedicated colleagues to drive projects forward. Our core business is to help ensure that chemicals and pharmaceuticals are as safe as possible.The position is based in Södertälje, planned start date is as soon as possible.ResponsibilitiesAs data scientist, you are responsible for providing our projects with relevant in silico tools and data to support both competence development and customer projects. We have a rich and varied project portfolio and we expect you to interact both internally and externally to further develop the area and broaden the scope beyond pharmaceuticals. You will also be responsible for establishing new synergies within RISE in the field of applied Data Science to increase capacity and aid the development of novel methods.As a member of our project teams you will be working closely with colleagues and customers to develop new user-friendly tools and processes that will enable project delivery. The projects often require creative solutions, advanced problem solving and interactions both within the organization as well as with external parties.Skills and experience requirementsThe successful applicant should have several of the skill sets below:Experience with Computational Toxicology/Chemistry and Cheminformatics approachesExpertise in supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning methods used to develop e.g. QSARs/QSPRs or other predictive models (DNN, CNN, SVM, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting)Expertise in high-performance computing, programming and visualization including workflow tools (Python, R, Matlab, C++, Java, KNIME, RapidMiner, Orange)Experience with virtualization, databases (SQL, mySQL), version control (Git, SVN) and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)Experience with bioinformatic tools for structure and sequence data base searching, gene and protein function, pathway mapping and text miningExperience with PBPK/PBTK and molecular interaction modelling (vHTS, Docking, Pharmacophores)An understanding of chemical safety, risk-assessment, information fusion and weight of evidence conceptsThe successful applicant should also possess:An ability to communicate and work in a multidisciplinary field and act as an interface between various scientific areas working in project teamsAn entrepreneurial ability to identify and develop business/service opportunities with customersIf this sounds exciting and you want to know more, please contact Ian Cotgreave on 010-516 63 81.
