Tarsier is on the verge of great things. We'd love to say we're there already, but that would just be lying to sound cool in a job ad. So we're close, but we need more top people to help us get there, and that's what we're looking for right now! We're just about to head out on our next set of adventures, making world-class games with top publishers; all the while pushing the bar of what comes next with our in-house concept team. Tarsier is all about great ideas executed to perfection, and if you want to be part of it, why not see if you fit the bill.

As the UI/UX artist, you are an expert at visual communication. Responsible for guiding the players into the game universe, you build the interface that will clearly instruct the player in what to do, when, why and how; whilst at the same time retaining the integrity of the art style and immersive qualities of the game. Your work needs to be clearly accessible and visible, yet invisible in it’s intuitive usability.

Working with your fellow artists, designers, programmers and producers, your job is to gather requirements, understand the main theme, features and mechanics of the game, and apply your skills in illustrations, storyboards, process flows and sitemaps to come up with a comprehensive plan for the interface of the game. Then you will work with the team to execute that plan.

Our ideal candidate has a keen understanding of the visual style that Tarsier Studios strives for in games like Little Nightmares and Statik. Our candidate also does not shy away from trying something new, thinking outside the box, or getting rid of the box entirely.

Responsibilities:
Gather technical and aesthetic requirements from all relevant parties
Conceptualize and design storyboards, flows and mock interfaces
Generate handcrafted and custom fonts, icons and other assets as needed.
Create prototypes and run internal user tests with key people on the team
Work with designers, artists and programmers to build the final interface

Requirements
Awe-inspiring po:rtfolio showing off UI screens, icons, fonts and other assets you’ve created, with in-game examples.
Expert level experience with all the modern tools used in designing, creating and implementing video game interfaces
Currently in a junior or regular UI/UX role on a game development team.
Able to work well in a multidisciplinary and iterative setting
Fluent in English, both verbal and written
Willing to relocate to Malmö, Sweden (or commute within the area)

Pluses:
Knowledge of game design
Passion for video games
Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 4
Creative and artistic nature
Traditional 2D sketching and composition skills

What we offer:
At Tarsier Studios, we believe in quality above all else. But quality is the residue of care, and most of all, care for people. So our great perks, like 6 weeks vacation, flexible working hours, company-paid supplemental pension and sick leave insurance, additional health allowance and a relocation package, are not there just to make people happy, but to ensure we reach the highest quality bar possible. Making great games means demanding a lot from people, but that doesn't mean we can’t take good care of them while we do so. That is the Tarsier way and what we offer to all our colleagues.
