Senior Software Architect eCommerce

As Senior Software Architect eCommerce you will oversee the development, design, user interface, technology integration, and site architecture for eCommerce development projects. This role will be responsible for managing technology teams from definition phase through implementation, as well as contribute to the sales cycle.

Your primary responsibilities:
- Demonstrate expert level proficiency in one or more of the eCommerce Packages listed: ATG, BEA Weblogic Commerce, IBM Websphere Commerce, Intershop, Microsoft Commerce Server
- Serve as a technical advisor and problem solver to clients and partners to assist them in optimizing their use of the particular Commerce product suite to successfully define, build and deploy online commerce and self service applications
- Estimate time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project; develop project plan incorporating all project variables including risk
- Establish measurable criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and costs
- Lead the translation of the client?s business requirements into systems design
- Work with the client's IT organization to establish technology strategy at an application level
- Establish high, mid and micro level plans and set technical direction for a team of up to 20 people
- An ability to act as a mentor to other technical staff is critical.
- Prepare elements of sales proposals to represent Sapient's technical expertise
- In addition to working on billable client engagements, may also assist as needed on pre-sales opportunities such as RFP responses, proposal delivery, architecture assessments, and technical qualifications

Job Requirements
- Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years in systems integration and development, package implementation, and/or interactive design
- Expert level proficiency in one or more of these eCommerce packages: Hybris, IBM Websphere Commerce, ATG, Intershop
- Multiple large ecommerce implementation experience
- Expert proficiency in Java, OO Application Development, under UNIX or NT
- Knowledge of multiple other technologies including but not limited to CGI, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer 2000 tools, C/C++, Perl, TCL, RDBMS, CORBA, COM is a plus
- Strong understanding of complex computer science and software engineering principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills
