Service Architect, Consumer Application IT Services

Consumer Application IT Services is a department within the unit Consumer IT Services that does all the development and maintenance of all consumer facing applications within Group IT. In the Consumer Application IT Services department we are outlining the long term direction for consumer IT services and we help to drive our business development through innovative IT. We are also managing new and running services through know how, development, maintenance and support.
As the Service Architect within Consumer Applications IT Services, you will be a part of a dedicated team providing an end to end service to the marketing and sales organisation. You will have general responsibility for the design of the Consumer Application IT Services application and service portfolio. You will also support projects in creating new or update existing applications within the area. You will work in close contact with business stakeholders, IT delivery organisation and vendors to create valuable services for our customers.
Main responsibilities
* Responsible the architecture strategy for applications and services in the Consumer Applications area, as well as setting implementation standards for the area
* Responsible for the integrity and strategic view of the architecture, interacting with others to identify common needs and to execute solutions as well as working with vendor application architects to ensure coherent solutions
* Work with the IT service manager and the application managers to specify how IT solutions will be delivered
* Responsible for monitoring industry trends and technology evolution within the area and spread this information in the team and department
* Study new technologies and tools to ensure that Volvo Car Group can benefit from new possibilities
* Plan, design and implement solutions, including integrations to backend systems, based on business needs and dependencies to existing IT services
* Support projects with architecture work
* Take part in architecture reviews as well as the alignment of Consumer IT Service's overall architecture targets
Required qualifications
* University degree in relevant field or extensive work experience in the area
* Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
* Ability to turn business requirements into sustainable technical solutions
* Deep knowledge about content delivery networks and site acceleration techniques
* Deep knowledge about global web site performance and web application architecture
* General knowledge of content management systems (Sitecore preferable)
* Good knowledge of techniques used for global public facing websites and of cloud platforms (Azure preferable)
* General knowledge of web as marketing channel
* Deep knowledge about integrations

* Good communication skills; the ability to convey ideas in written form and the capability to share those ideas verbally in a clear, concise manner to both technical specialists and people without technical knowledge
* Good collaboration and relational skills; comfortable working with and leading other skilled professionals in project teams towards common goals
* Flexible and adaptable: the ability to accept, promote and drive change and implementation and lead way in the organisation for new perspectives
* Self-directed and organised: has a structured and analytical way of taking on tasks and performing on a daily basis in a result oriented way
