What you’ll do
At Telenor we use Splunk, which is the industry-leading platform for operational intelligence and SIEM. It's the easy, fast and secure way to analyze the massive streams of machine data generated by IT systems and technology infrastructure—physical, virtual and in the cloud. Telenor is now looking for a Splunk Devops Engineer who will be responsible for all day-to-day operation, maintenance and administration, data on-boarding and dash-boarding as well as installing new Splunk instances. The candidate should be proficient with recognizing and onboarding new data sources into Splunk, analyzing the data for anomalies and trends, and building dashboards highlighting the key trends of the data.

Typical daily activities;
• Architect, design, support, and maintain Splunk infrastructure for a high availability
• Standardize Splunk agent deployment, configuration and maintenance across a variety of UNIX and Windows platforms
• Troubleshoot Splunk server and agent problems and issues
• Assist internal users of Splunk in designing and maintaining production-quality dashboards
• Mentor users and other groups on their use of Splunk
• Monitor the agent and server infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization
• Design core systems performance and troubleshooting logs
• Support Splunk on Unix, Linux and Windows-based platforms
• Perform data mining and analysis, utilizing various queries and reporting methods
• Install, build and maintain Splunk Apps and add-ons in a distributed cluster.
• Solve complex Integration challenges and debug complex configuration issues
• Technical writing/creation of formal documentation such as architecture diagrams, technical designs, and SOPs
• Contribute to architecting future Splunk implementations at Telenor

Who are you
You are a humble team player, with an analytic approach and you take pride and ownership in everything you do. You are passionate about development and the quality of your work. You have wide knowledge of IT infrastructure and how components correlate; applications, servers (windows and Linux), databases, storage arrays, networking equipment, Active directory, etc. You are easy to work with and you are happy to share knowledge with others. You have hands-on experience with Splunk and are at least interested in AWS, Python, REST api and other modern technologies, and also experience in working with agile methodologies and very security aware.
