Job DescriptionThe position is based in the Device Software Research unit at Ericsson Research (ER), Lund, Sweden. The unit is part of the device related research in ER with the charter to create novel concepts and technologies, do proof-of-concept prototyping, be a strategic eco-system influencer, serve as a pool of expertise supporting strategy, business and standardization functions within the Ericsson group, and create strategically important intellectual property. The unit conducts experimental research involving design and implementation of high accuracy object detection and tracking in constrained devices – limited CPU, limited memory, limited power. To thrive in this environment, you know your way around computing HW and programming languages, and you typically select the most suitable programming language to solve the problem at hand, be it low-level machine language, C, Python, Go, or some more general-purpose programming language. You work analytically, you dive deep to build a solid understanding of the problem, and you find, design, and implement efficient solutions. The work involves a great degree of freedom and expectations are high on the ability to build expertise knowledge and generate innovative output.You are expected to have in-depth competence as well as experience from at least one of the following areas:Extensive knowledge in AI, ML, and data scienceKnowledge about processing architecture, memory systems, and algorithmic optimizations for performance and efficiencyDesign and analysis of models for, and implementations of, Machine Learning, including e.g. Deep Neural Networks, from an algorithmic perspectivePerformance optimizations of machine learning on different types of processor architectures and memory hierarchies (learning as well as inference) Device implementation research in ER is organized as a cross-disciplinary program spanning multiple units and geographical locations. This means that the work involves collaboration with other units within ER.
