At Core System Platform we are building a computer-in-the-car architecture - key for enabling innovation within areas such as advanced connectivity, machine learning and autonomous drive.
Our mission is to create a Vehicle Control Unit platform using new technologies like driveOS and NVidia’s latest chip technology in combination with more traditional car signaling technologies.
We are dedicated to deliver platform functions simplifying the application development to create a safe, reliable and secure platform solution within Volvo Cars for increased innovation and speed.

What your team will do

The Vehicle Control Unit contains a high speed NVidia processor and you will contribute with building supporting functions in the platform domain enabling efficient application development.
The main challenges you will solve together will be in creating services for the application layer development using mainly C and C++ in a modern development environment.
What you will develop depends on the requirements from applications and stakeholders - defining the basic functions of the platform.
High emphasis are on building reliant and fault tolerant code enabling the platform to safely interact with critical functions of the car, needed for our evolvement towards enabling a fully autonomous and personalized user experience
Fulfilling our vision – the agile teams take full responsibility for the development of the functions - including participation in requirement definition, implementation, test development, continuous integration and verification of the functionality.

You and your skills
As a person we expect you to have experience and interest in developing embedded C and C++ software in a GIT based Linux development environment.
Experience in embedded SW-platforms, Python scripting, test methods using tools like GTest and Awesome Framework. Of course other languages, in particular Rust, as well experience QNX OS, NVidia driveOS or also key competences for our future. 
Overall we want to work together with YOU who have keen interest in SW development and want to be part of building a new sw-defined electrical car architecture.
We expect you to continuously sharpen you skill in SW development as well as being curios to learn, understand and master car-specific domain requirements required for the next generation of cars.
