Software development that makes a difference
At Volvo Cars, we are making bold digital visions come true. We aim to lead in the automotive world by creating a digital ecosystem built around making our customers' lives less complicated. Now we are looking for curious, creative people who want to change the world through innovative thinking

This is what we do
At Core System Platform we are building a?computer-in-the-car architecture?- key for enabling?innovation?within areas such as advanced connectivity, machine learning and autonomous drive. Our mission is to create a Vehicle Control Unit platform using new technologies like drive OS and NVidia’s latest chip technology in combination with more traditional car signaling technologies. We are dedicated to deliver platform functions simplifying the application development to create a safe, reliable and secure?platform?solution within Volvo Cars for increased innovation and speed.
What you will do
Together with the Team you will be developing a software development kit (SDK) to be used by software developers working on top of the new platform. The SDK is a key enabler for increasing speed and quality of the software deliveries in the ever more complex software environment of a modern car. The SDK supports all aspects of the software development cycle: a documentation framework for the platform, a build environment, test environments (virtual as well as physical) and a continuous integration environment where applications meet and integrate with the platform.
With us, you will have a great opportunity for development in an organization that promotes curiosity and values everyone’s contribution. We believe our success lies in working together, creating our culture by empowering teams and individuals. An environment where we create state of the art SW, using the latest technologies and continuously reinvent. Together we make a difference!
Who are you?
We believe that you want to build modern, modular and stable platforms and appreciate efficient continuous integration environments. You enjoy giving support to other people. To be successful in this job we also believe that you have experience from working in a Linux environment and preferably good competence in at least one of the two areas:
*  Software development in C and/or C++ for POSIX-like environments.
* Tool and infrastructure development for SDKs and/or CI chains using Python, Git and related tools.

Working in our team, you will learn many things. If you already have experience in automation using Jenkins, Zuul, Ansible, GitLab CI, shell scripting, Docker, CMake, GNU Make, interfacing using REST APIs, Gerrit Code Review or GitLab, it will definitely be meritorious as well.
