Job description
Machine learning/Image analysis Consultant
One in seven men develop prostate cancer during their lifetimes. The effective diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer is largely dependent on accurate, precise and standardized assessment of medical images.
EXINI Diagnostics AB, founded in 1999, develops AI methods for automated analysis of medical images. EXINI has developed automated analysis platforms for cardiac, brain and bone scans. The company has always been innovative, developing web-based systems in the early 2000s. EXINIs most widely distributed platform is used to calculate the automated Bone Scan Index, which quantifies the bone tumor burden in patients with metastatic prostate cancer. This platform has been installed at about 1,000 hospitals worldwide. In 2015, EXINI was acquired by Progenics Pharmaceuticals Inc. for developing patient centric AI technologies for PSMA-targeted theranostic agents.
Location: EXINI Diagnostics AB, Lund, Sweden
Qualifications:
- Master of Science in Engineering (Mathematics/Physics/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering) or equivalent.
- Strong foundation in at least two of the following areas and basic knowledge in the rest:
- Machine learning, in particular deep learning.
- Statistics, preferably biostatistics or strong mathematical abilities
- Software development, good Python skills is a strong plus.
- Computational medical image analysis
- Good computational programming skills, e.g. Python, Matlab, R, Julia
- Working knowledge of terminal/bash
- Team player with good communication skills (oral and writing).
Nice to have:
- Software development skills: e.g. git, unit testing, agile development, writing well structured and documented code.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as tensorflow/keras or pytorch
- Data engineering skills: data cleaning and transformation, versioning, data workflow handling
- Good working knowledge of (bio)statistics and related skills: confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, ROC curves, visualizations, pandas/R, jupyter notebooks
- Cloud development experience, e.g. AWS, google cloud
- Experience with medical device development
