Creative Tools Research Engineer

At Embark, we believe it should be as easy to create as it is to play, which requires us to rethink the way we create today.We believe in a future of accessible creation, and we are looking for people, who dare to define what creation within interactive experience media will look like tomorrow.As a Creative Tools Research engineer at Embark, you will be a part of our small R&D team, exploring technology that bridges the gap between creative intent and execution — how do we enable millions to create vast beautiful interactive worlds and express their ideas in a quick and autotelic way?Examples of responsibilitiesBuild prototypes of content creation tools and creation loopsRead, understand, and implement methods published in academic literatureExplore and understand existing creative tools, and learn from themCollaborate with content creators, designers, and software engineersIt would be awesome if you have some of theseA creative and curious mindAdvocacy for user creativity, desire to see what others do with the tools you buildExperience with procedural content creation and/or machine learningExperience with modern programming languages (Rust, Python, etc)Experience with example-based synthesis, generative models, geometry processingSolid understanding of 3D computer graphicsFluency in EnglishYou take ideas all the way from research to a software prototype, and you do not shy from diving deep into academic literature and connecting existing solutions to a bigger picture. You may be coming from engineering, procedural art, academic, machine learning, or tool programming backgrounds. You are comfortable on projects with a long term vision and lots of detail to figure out along the way. You are not afraid of arriving at wrong answers if they further the understanding of questions at hand.
