Front End Developer

ORBITAL SYSTEMS is an award-winning clean-tech startup in Malmö, Sweden. Our Founder and CEO, Mehrdad Mahdjoubi, developed the world's most advanced shower system allowing up to 90% water savings and 80% energy savings while increasing comfort and hygiene. Inspired by an academic cooperation project with NASA, the company was launched under the mentorship of Skype's Founder Niklas Zennström, and is today in a fast-growth stage.

Who we are looking for

You can come in and implement front-solutions from day one, love writing code, and are an expert in HTML, WordPress, CSS and php. You need to have a real desire to work in a fast-paced startup, and be part of a unique journey. To succeed, you will need to be able to demonstrate a real passion for application design and have a proven track record in building high-quality, efficient applications with rich and innovative user experiences.

Essential skills and experience

- 2+ years of commercial software engineering experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong experience of building interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and php
- Experience of consuming AJAX, MySQL and JSON RESTful API?s
- Good working knowledge of common design patterns: Responsive Design and Grid Systems
- Experience of working with Wordpress
- Standards-compliant and cross-browser compatible code
- Great English communication skills (written and speaking)

Nice to have

- Version Control (i.e. Git)
- AngularJS
- Ruby on Rails, Python Django or any MVC framework experience
- Good knowledge of integrating server-side development code with database servers, e.g., MySQL, MongoDB
- Knowledge and experience of agile/scrum methodology
- Linux server experience
- Experience with a front-end framework (Bootstrap, foundation etc.)
- Object orientated programming patterns
