Legends! We are looking for legends!

More precisely we are looking for the Blind Willie Nelsons of Software Development. Blind Willie Nelson overcame the obvious obstacle of learning to play guitar, even though he was blind from birth. He then proceeded to create, and keep on creating, beautiful blues compositions, even though they were overlooked by most people at the time. But then Carl Sagan put together the Voyager Golden Record, a 2 disc phonograph record meant to represent earth and mankind, if ever encountered by an alien civilisation, and they selected Blind Willie ´s “Dark was the night, cold was the ground” as one of the songs for the record. Legend status reached for Blind Willie!

- You don't give up on your own ideas, even if others find them weird or too far out

What you will be doing

Playing for Skymill as a Senior Software Developer basically means that you have full responsibility and freedom when working with our clients. This means creating your own or reading up on our clients’ technical requirements. You also need to have the ability to turn these requirements into beautiful implementations, mainly using Java, Javascript (Node.js) or Golang, and just as “Dark was the night…” was an excellent representative for mankind and earth, your creation has to be an excellent representation of the client's thoughts, wants and needs in their project. You also have to walk and support your team members and your customer through the entire development cycle.

Most of all, you have to let the passion you have for producing quality software shine through in your everyday work. You will be working alongside some of the most brilliant developers on the scene at the moment, so you have to be able to let them shine as brightly as you do.

Desired skills

As mentioned, this time we are looking for legends.This means that you have to have at least 7 - 8years of real work life experience from the field, and you have to be an expert in at least one of the following areas:
- Java
- Backend Javascript (Node.js)
- Golang

On top of that, we also see you playing really nicely when it comes to:
- REST API:s
- NoSQL databases
- Docker and microservices
- Software architecture
- Handling end to end software development life cycles
- Development lead role within a team
- Brewing (or at least drinking) good beer

As a senior band member, you also need the skill to guide, train and motivate your more junior colleagues towards achieving legendary status. And you need to be one hell of a consultant.
