Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

At Scania R&D, within the Connectivity, we work with the future of sustainable transport systems and the connected vehicles. Our responsibility is to ensure that data from the vehicles can be used by the various connected services, to generate as much customer value as possible. You get a key role in shaping tomorrow's connected transport system. 

Our group are working with the applications in the telematic units in the truck as well as back-end for IOT applications, we gather and stream the data to our IT systems where we clean and enrich the data and send it to other teams in Scania for end user applications. The scrum teams are mixed, with T-shaped competence where you have your main competence in embedded system with C++ or backend with AWS/Python/C#.  We have really exiting journey in front of us supporting the growing IOT business and supporting existing and future needs for Scania within the electrified and autonomous field. 

We give you an environment that apply agile working methods and the teams are responsible for their services all the way from requirement handling, development, quality assurance to production. We automate as much as possible and strive for high quality when we develop new functionality.

Your work assignment

If you want to be part of our connectivity journey and work with embedded telematic unit, backend parts and like to work in an learning environment with great colleagues this will be a great place.

We are looking for a candidate with following experience:

• Competence in Embedded development.
• Competence in C++ and Linux
• Experience or intrests in backend development using .net
• Experience or intrests in Data Streaming and in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and practical experience in deploying cloud architectures
• Strong thinking in software modularization and code quality.
• Experience from connected vehicles and vehicle communication networks (CAN) is meritorious.

Your Profile

As a person, you are a team player that likes to share your knowledge and work in agile teams.  You are communicative & goal-oriented.  You are technically driven and like to be at the forefront and spending most of the time developing writing with high quality so we need to spend minimal time in operations and maintenance mode.

You have an academic education at university level in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent work experience. You communicate fluently in English in both speech and writing.
