Connectivity is one of the technology trends fundamentally changing the transport industry. Scania is industry leading in connectivity, with the highest penetration level of connected vehicles in the industry. At Connected Services and Solutions we develop new services and applications to grow our connected services offering to the customer, in order to optimize their profitability in a sustainable way. This allows us to accomplish Scania’s mission to become the leader in sustainable transport.

To be a successful service provider, customer knowledge and knowing how to deliver customer value is one of the most important capabilities. One of our UX-designers is going on parental leave and therefore we’re now looking for a substitute during the period October 2019 – October 2020.

This is what you love doing
Your responsibilities as a user-experience (UX) designer include planning and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating the results into user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes and prototypes. In addition, it is important to be able to understand Scania’s business requirements and any technical limitations to improve and optimize the overall functionality and design of our current solutions.

Knowledge of customer needs is crucial to your success in this position. You will continuously gather this knowledge through communication and collaboration with customers, Scania colleagues, business intelligence as well as through partners.

As a UX-designer you will be part of a team of several UX and graphic designers, in which we keep the design together and support each other in our day to day work. However, most of your work will be executed in your assigned product team, where you will work closely together with product owners, business managers and developers. Even though the product teams are quite autonomous within their area, you will need to communicate and coordinate your work with your UX-colleagues and other teams within the organisation.

Who we believe you are
You have an academic background within UX/Cognitive Science and several years of professional experience with UX and Service Design. You are comfortable with work from a strategic level to detailed improvements in the implementation phase. Experience from an agile development environment and automotive or transport industry is an advantage.

Excellent communication skills are required to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues. Fluency in English is a prerequisite and some travelling will be required since you will be responsible for collecting customer requirements within the area.
