Join ABB as an ECAD/PLM Application programmer in the Power Grids division and work in a team which is dedicated to creating a future, where innovative digital technologies bring cleaner energy to more people.You will be part of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), a business unit within ABB’s Power Grids division located in Ludvika. The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems. HVDC use Teamcenter (PLM) in Mechanical/ plant design and Engineering base (Autotec) in electrical design.Autotec has exposed much of the functionality of the Engineering Base (EB) Software via an open programming interface, the Engineering Base API, which provides possibility to extend the functionality of EB by writing macros.Your responsibilitiesBusiness analysis and requirement definition as input for system development.Continuous development of Teamcenter including ITK Server side programming in C/C++ and client-side programming in Java as well as XML for stylesheet definition.Continuous development of Engineering Base by Macro programming in either VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) or even in the somewhat more modern programming language C # (MS.NET).Development and testing of new code and troubleshooting of existing code, based on problems reported by users or the development team. Another task is to develop integrations from EB/Teamcenter to other systems like Excel, Visio, ABB document handling system ECM and BIM applications (Autodesk BIM 360).Supporting the development team with technical competence in programming.Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Your backgroundAs a foundation, you have a minimum of a bachelor’s Degree, combined with at least three years of experience in programming.We are looking for a programmer with knowledge in C/C++, C#, VBA, java and XML/XSLT programming.Knowledge of GIT (TFS/ SourceTree) for code management is qualifying.On a personal level, you are a natural leader with a creative mindset, great interpersonal skills and excellent ability to resolve issues. In this role you need to be self-motivated and work effectively both independently and as part of the team. It’s important that you communicate well at all levels of the organization and get your messages across in a coherent and clear way. You need to have a high level of integrity and dependability and a results-based orientation. Ideally, you have deep knowledge in programming, application customizations, processes and application usage in combination with a good overall knowledge in ECAD, PLM (product lifecycle management) and BIM (Building Information Modelling) systems.Fluency in English is required, whereas Swedish and other additional languages are highly valued.
