The section Autonomous Systems Development is delivering Scania’s customer-oriented solution for driverless buses and trucks. The section consists of seven groups that are focusing on onboard technology and software for autonomous vehicles. In the group Localization and Map, we are responsible for two main areas: 1) Creation, handling and update of site maps, as well as, 2) determining centimeter-precision location of the vehicle, no matter if it is on a busy city street, in a complex harbor, or an underground mine. We have a great challenge ahead of us and our section is an important part of Scania’s shift towards sustainable transport solutions.

The team
As a software developer at Autonomous Systems Localization and Map, you will work closely together with a team of inspiring, engaged and fun-loving colleagues. We are a diversified team in gender, age, ethnicity, experience level, etc., and we embrace our diversity with open arms. We work in an Agile environment where it is essential to enable continuous improvements and to empower swift adaptation to this fast-evolving industry.

Your role
Our main development task is done with C/C++ on our own platform. We use data from vehicle mounted sensors and off-board system. All our development is done in close cooperation with the teams for sensors, computational platform, tactical planning, vehicle control, etc. You are expected to bring your share of contribution to the fast and high-quality delivery, the concept and strategy development, and the further boost of our team spirit.

Your profile
Most importantly, you are passionate in automation and are excited about the future of autonomous vehicles.

You have a Master of Science degree or above, within a relevant field and good knowledge of English in both speech and writing. You have experience in software development, and want to learn and grow as a software developer. You enjoy team work.
