Within Ericsson Research, Research Area Radio is responsible for inventing and evaluating advanced radio network concepts and solutions targeting academic publications, standardization, regulation and product development.
As a Researcher within the Radio department, you will be part of investigating concepts and solutions for future radio access technologies including techniques such as Massive-MIMO, spectrum sharing, network coordination and applied machine learning. You will also be part of the continuous development and improvement work of existing standards, such as 5G NR.
Using simulation tools as means of evaluation is a natural part of the work. Previous experience from stochastic modeling and radio network simulator development is meriting. Understanding the interaction between link and system performance, to ensure that proposed access solutions are enabling efficient overall performance is highly relevant. Furthermore, understanding spectrum and hardware possibilities or limitations, based on today’s and tomorrow’s technologies is important.
Over time, you will be given a chance to work with model and simulator tool development, simulations, concept design and standardization.
