Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified systems and equipment (electronics, mechanics and software) for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Product Areas Control & Actuation, Gripen and Mission Avionics as well as Common Engineering are all part of the Business Unit Avionics Systems and have its operation in Jönköping and Järfälla. 
The section Projects and Customer Support within the Common Engieering Department is looking for a Team Leader for software development with placement in Jönköping.

Din framtida utmaning
Your role
As a Team Leader within Common Engineering your main task will be to manage a multi-project team in software development. Other tasks to participate in are winning business activities, marketing of our competence and solutions within the Saab group and establishment of technology plans and future roadmaps for software components.
You will manage a team of 4-8 skilled engineers to fulfil requirement, time schedule and cost for each project. The work package for the team could vary from limited drivers to advanced application SW developed for level A products according to RTCA-178C, the software consideration in Airborne System. Typically, the SW is coded in C (or C++) and developed for Power PC processor. A number of support tools are used within the area requirement engineering, configuration management and model based design.
The team leadership includes daily base planning, economic and progress follow up, technical decisions and to give input to personnel and competence planning. The work will, besides the team, be performed in close collaboration with line manager and project managers. You will report to the project managers and your line manager.
Your future challenge
You must have experience in software development and have ability to build commitment and energy in the team. Your main task is to technically lead and distribute the work within the team. You should keep and increase the performance of the team.
You are interested in software and computers, but you don´t need to be an expert. Instead, all team members and surrounding engineers’ knowledge must be used to achieve the best proposal/solution.
In the future, your team may be multi-discipline and comprise System, SW, HW and PLD.

You are an Bachelor engineer or higher educated with emphasis on embedded systems.
You have updated knowledge and experience from software development for embedded system with high focus on safety and formalism.
This position involves working with Swedish defence classified information and therefore requires Swedish citizenship.
