Software Developer

As a Trading System developer at Nasdaq, you will join forces with testers and business analysts in a cross-functional team. Together, you will work closely with our customers to develop and tailor systems for exchanges worldwide. Using your expertise and programming skills, you will tackle complex problems and produce robust solutions that process huge amounts of data faultlessly in a low latency environment.

We are working with an interesting and complex product with very high quality requirements. You will join a highly qualified cross-functional scrum team consisting of Business Analysts, Software Developers, Test Engineers, and Project Managers.

What you will be doing:

* Designing solutions and writing good quality code that solves difficult problems in a highly distributed system with extreme demands on resilience and quality
* You will be involved in all stages of the product life cycle; design, implementation, testing, release, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance and enhancement
* Always consider performance implications when developing and refactoring code
* Follow Nasdaq's and projects guidelines, design principles and standards
* Contribute with your experience and input to sprint planning, retrospectives and time estimation of features and change requests

What you will bring to the team:

* Several years of experience with software development and at least a bachelor degree in computer science (or equivalent)
* Curiosity and a highly collaborative work style along with wanting to contribute what you already know, educate the people around you, and bravely dive into new territories
* Previous experience of working with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
* Passion for building great products and delivering to business and customers
* Understanding of distributed systems
* Basic understanding of the functional programming paradigm and concepts
* Be proud of the code that you write
