Network Administrator

The Network administrator's mission is to design, maintain, monitor and develop the network infrastructure for the Netsize platform so that the service requirements for both customers and internal usage are met. Netsize delivers services to companies worldwide with high requirements on uptime and throughput of the systems. This offers the Network administrator a challenging and varied job with good opportunities for development.

Main responsibilities
- Network planning and design
- Installation and configuration of network equipment
- Network troubleshooting
- Monitoring and analyzing network activity
- Network performance tuning
- Firewall & switch configuration
- VPN setup & management
- Managing network security
- Communication with suppliers and hosting partners
- Knowledge sharing within the group and to other affected parties

The Network administrator would be a key person in designing the new network infrastructure for Netsize. The current network equipment is reaching end-of-life and we have identified several areas of improvement for the infrastructure, to increase resilience and availability.

As part of the Operations team, the Network administrator can also perform recurring system administration tasks including
- Troubleshooting problems reported by users or applications
- Installation and configuration of new hardware and software
- System monitoring
- Configuration management
- Release management
- User account management

Profile:
- MSc. or other academic degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 3-5 years work experience as a network technician
- Several years experience from working in a complex Linux/Unix environment
- Broad technical knowledge in related fields, including support and Linux/Unix shell programming is preferred
- Knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux is a plus
- Knowledge of dynamic routing protocols and load balancing methods is a plus
