Concept/2D Artist

The Station is a Swedish game developer in the south-east of Sweden best known for the long tradition of creating awesome creative content to the LittleBigPlanet™ franchise.

We take pride in always delivering High Quality in a timely manner no matter the project and now we are looking for a fantastic Concept/2D Artist and outstanding co-worker to join our art team!

The Position:
As a Concept/2D Artist your primary responsibilities will be to create concept art for characters and assets from which fully textured and skinned in-game 3D models will be created by the 3D Artists. Creating moodboards, style guides and concepts of different visual styles for different projects is also part of the responsibilities of the Concept Artist.
Part of the work will also be to create various 2D art assets such as Icons, GUI Elements, Logos and similar, but also web- and print layouts for promotion and marketing purposes.
The position is full-time on site at our Karlshamn office.

Responsibilities:
Create appealing character concepts, working with the art team and project lead to develop outstanding characters and assets.
Provide concept art that is easily communicated and serves as a good target image for a client and a blueprint for a 3D Artist.
Follow style guides and working hard to sustaining the appeal of products and the essence of the brands of which we are responsible.
Maintain the style for different characters on the same project.
Follow art directions and The Station’s technical requirements.

Essential Skills:
Highly experienced with Photoshop.
Exceptional drawing skills
Versatile and able to adapt to different art styles
Organized and with great attention to detail
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Self-driven; excellent verbal and written communication; team player.
Good social skills and willing to contribute to a healthy work environment.

Desirable Skills:
Industry experience 

Additional Skills:
Not necessary but would definitely put you ahead of the competition;
Illustration skills
Experience with Illustrator, InDesign and Flash.
Experience with 3D art packages such as Maya or 3DSMax.
Animation skills

Must be willing to relocate to Karlshamn, Sweden.
