What do we offer?
While Volvo is pushing the boundaries on several fronts – autonomous driving, vehicle electrification, cutting-edge vehicle engineering design, and more – some of the most exciting action is happening in the Consumer and Enterprise Digital area. We are uniquely positioned with our talent within CED to shape what’s next in the automotive industry. We are taking consumer-facing technology around the driving experience to places most players are only dreaming about – and changing how people think about transportation as a result.
We’re fully committed to giving Volvo customers an entire week of quality time back per year already by 2025 through digital innovations that simplify their lives. Within the enterprise, digital technology will provide vast opportunities to change the way we develop, produce and market cars. We are delivering leading enterprise products to power the digital future for Volvo Cars.
What’s in it for you?
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine what it means to learn about and shop for our products across our digital touchpoints. We are looking for UX designers to create great experiences turning customer insights into impactful business solutions and great customer experiences. The UX designer will be part of Volvo’s web and eCommerce team, which is exploring new ways to shop for cars. You will work on teams that are communicating Volvo’s core products and will partner with a team of designers across the company to make beautiful, seamless experiences for our customers.

What you’ll do
You will deliver key design artifacts such as user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that balance design aesthetics with intuitive functionality. You will also develop a deep understanding of our customer needs and pain-points, serving as an expert for your product team and develop ideas for new and enhanced features.
Communicating designs, ideas, and rationale with your stakeholders and team using data and customer insights. You will also collaborate with other designers to help raise the bar, impart knowledge and ensure a seamless customer experience across Volvo’s digital landscape.

You and your skills

Experience - We believe you’ve been designing for 8+ years for a consumer-focused tech company, so you understand what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented experiences.

Mastery - We are looking for a versatile designer who uses a full range of skills—product design, interaction design, and visual design — to ensure you deliver magical experiences to the customer.

Communication & people skills - You’re a strong communicator. Who can inspire teams towards action and empathy for the user. We believe you have a people-focused design mentality. Constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether that’s hands-on user research or a quantitative A/B test.
