Senior Data Analyst

Lifesum is a Stockholm-based digital health startup that offers its users a flexible platform to support and encourage a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Having already achieved over 9 million downloads across Europe, the Lifesum app is available on Android and iOS, and can be tailored by individual users and adapted to specific goals and aims, offering personal guidance based on personal data. Lifesum wants to make people healthier and happier by helping users to forge good habits on their journey towards a better lifestyle, as well as an improved overall quality of life.

We’re looking for an experienced platform engineer with a strong interest in data analysis and infrastructure for that to help us use our data in smart ways as we grow. You will be part of the platform team and you will with be taking features from the idea stage to scalable production deployments as well as supporting the organization with analytics tools. You will work on making highly scalable solutions, get feedback from analytics and monitoring tools and be able to refine and perfect your solution at each iteration.

Tech-wise, our server code is written in Python and you will be exposed to distributed computing (scalable stack, queue-driven distributed processing), cloud hosting (Amazon), database optimization (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB), search solutions (Sphinx, ElasticSearch), test driven development, load testing, etc.

This role is a good fit for analytical and creative software engineers loving team work. We work closely in a scrum team and follow the motto “team work is better work”. You want to grow and learn from others, and you also want to teach and help others grow.

Responsibilities

• Take lead in growing our understanding of the data we have as well as using it for new features as well as business insights
• Taking features from the idea stage to scalable production deployments
• Take part in improving the platform as a whole as the company grows

Requirements

• You are a doer and love to see what you built in production
• Passion. You love distributed systems and solving our users’ problems in a smart and scalable way
• A strong interest in data analysis and the infrastructure for it
• 5+ years software development experience
• Experience building, maintaining and optimizing large-scale consumer web/mobile applications
• You have worked in a team of developers and know the benefits of tests, continuous integration, logging and monitoring
• You have experience working in Python or a similar language
• You are a team worker with excellent communication skills
• Fluent (written and verbal) in English
• It’s a plus if you have a passion for health and fitness
