HPC Site Engineer to Data Center in Bollnäs

Swedvest AB is a staffing company which specialises in hiring consultants for out of the ordinary assignments with an international angle. 
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Site Engineer to be assigned to a Data Center client in Bollnäs. Applicants should be dynamic professionals who are looking for a rewarding future in one of today’s most exciting technologies.
The assignment is set for a duration of 2 years. You will be employed by Swedvest AB and hired to the Client for the full duration of the assignment. 
The Client is a provider of High Performance Computing (HPC). The general tasks for the assignment will be:
• Assemble HPC cluster nodes;
• Launch of new instances of HPC cluster nodes;
• Monitor infrastructure to ensure minimal service disruption;
• Testing of PC/Server hardware;
• Troubleshooting of Hardware, BIOS/Firmware and basic Operating System related issues;
• Suggest improvements to hardware and software configuration
QUALIFICATIONS
• Deep knowledge of Linux / UNIX;
• Strong understanding of technical concepts of a computing infrastructure;
• Strong understanding of networks and PC hardware architecture including maintenance and repair;
• Basic command of Russian;
• Basic command of English;
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions;
• Be able to work in shifts in order to cover 24/7/365
Preferred qualifications
• Experience in use and deployment of Zabbix;
• Python programming language competence;
• Previous work experience in data center

For the assignment as Site Engineer you are expected to have the following specific qualifications.
Education: Bachelor or equivalent degree in IT or sciences
Experience: 3 years of experience in technical management of large scale IT operations
Language skills: English and Russian
Work skills: Deep knowledge of Linux / UNIX, strong understanding of technical concepts of a computing infrastructure, strong understanding of networks and PC hardware architecture including maintenance and repair.
