The mission of User Experience Centre, within Research & Development, is to elevate Volvo
Cars’ UX. We are responsible for delivering complete product UX value, providing
strategies, directions and conducting user research on various markets. By being progressive
in the VR/AR field we can rapidly enable a full experience test environment alongside our
driveable full-scale prototype cars..

What you will do
UX design at Volvo Cars R&D is something unique. You will work with both physical and
digital UX for our products and services connected to it. You are an expert in how to
understand, visualize and communicate the needs of our consumers, who they are and how
they behave.
You and your team will do this in close collaboration with product owners, product strategy
and other development teams within Volvo Car Group. You will explore, frame and define
user needs and innovation opportunities.
By experience prototyping, whether using full-scale cars, Styrofoam or AR/VR, you will be
probing the user experience hypothesis. You will act as an evangelist for user centred design,
design thinking and user business value in an agile development setup.

Do you fit the profile?
You are an experienced UX Designer with research focus, with intense collaboration and
communication skills where meeting and creating trust with internal and external customers
is something that comes natural for you.
You have a Master’s Degree or equivalent, in cognitive science, user experience or
equivalent field of study and have more than 3 years of documented experience within the
UX field.
It is meritorious if you have documented work within design ethnographic practice.
Coming from an agile development environment and having start-up experience with
catalysed product development in a fast-paced environment will make you feel at home.
