Platform Development is a function within GBT, Global Bus Technology, at Volvo Buses which is responsible for platform development, architecture, project management and test.
As a Lead ESW Engineer you will be a part of the Electrical, Software and Architecture department with its mission to develop, test and verify the electrical system through concept phases up to serial production and maintenance while optimizing demands on quality, deliveries, cost and features all over the world.
Together with the team you will be responsible for the control units with in-house developed SW. We have an exciting future ahead of us and we have the possibility to influence where we are going

Role description
You will play an important role in the development of new functionality of our in-house developed ECU’s. We are a small team so there is a great opportunity in getting responsibility and to influence. The role requires frequent communication with colleagues regarding specifications, functionality and diagnostics. Depending on the current project portfolio and project phases, the focus for your work will vary but your main responsibility within the role is to:
Develop functional descriptions and requirements for new software functions
Participate in discussions with internal and external suppliers
Contribute to integration and testing of functionality in complete buses
Analyze quality problems. Find the root cause and propose corrections where needed
The Electrical, Software and Architecture department is a global department which requires cooperation and traveling between our sites in Sweden, Poland, Mexico and Brazil as well as to test facilities and customers worldwide.

Master or Bachelor of Science in mechanical, electronics, data or similar
Good human skills. You will need to work within cross functional teams and be able to lead a team
Supportive
Understanding electrical function specifications
Experience from SW-development in the automotive industry
ISO26262 knowledge
Organized programming skills. Ok, this is actually a must. We follow MISRA C
Other languages than English, like Swedish, Chinese, C++, Python, French, Gradle, QML etc
