Job Description
We are looking for a Software and Firmware Developer responsible for the development of new firmware for unique-, state-of-the-art embedded systems and hardware devices created by our customers. The assignments contain debugging-, troubleshooting of newly developed code but also maintenance of existing code.
The hardware devices, most of the times, communicate with other host devices where control applications are running. Communication interfaces are commonly wireless.
Responsibilities
·      Translate system architectural diagrams of embedded systems into working software & firmware architectures
·      Write and develop firmware function by function
·      Be able to transform advanced mathematical algorithms into working code
·      Understand the creation process of state machines and data flows
·      Be able to optimize firmware functions
·      Be able to work hands-on with embedded systems understanding schematics, PCB layouts, power supplies, component datasheets, etc.
·      Understand the process of regulatory compliance and what role the firmware can play to contribute to pass compliance tests.
Skills
·      Minimum 4 years of experience in writing and compiling low-level firmware code for embedded systems for a good variety of MCUs and DSPs.
·      Excellent knowledge in several of the following programming languages: C, C++, C#, python, assembler, java, etc.
·      Extensive experience in operating systems for embedded systems, particularly FreeRTOS and Linux
·      In-depth knowledge of programming control firmware for navigation sensors, gyroscopes and accelerometers
·      Knowledge of developing and integrating firmware for wireless and wired interfaces such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, I2C, etc.
·      Familiarity with protocol stacks of wireless and wired communication interfaces
·      Vast experience with preparing firmware for pre-compliance and regulatory compliance testing for CE, FCC, UL, TÜV, etc.
·      Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
·      Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git Lab
·      Familiarity with agile development.
·      Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
