UI Designer – Volvo Group Connected Solutions 

Volvo Group Connected Solutions is a global organization that leads the development of Volvo’s connected services and solutions of tomorrow. We work at the forefront of connectivity by collecting and analyzing data from over 1000 000 Volvo assets. The organization is set-up to deliver competitive offerings, shorten time to market and provide an arena for new service innovations together with customers, partners and the Volvo Group. 
 
Consumer Services is the function within our business that is responsible for the end user services, from idea to development and operation. We work in tight collaboration with the Volvo Group Business Areas and customers. We drive and manage the performance of the services and the business areas portfolios over the life cycle. Together with our stakeholders we create value through fantastic user experience and business enhancing services and products.  

We are now looking for a driven UI designer to be part of our UX & Design Team. Today the team consist of 14 people that work with all brands within the Volvo Group. These are exciting times for our team as our skills and services are highly demanded and wanted by our different Business Areas in different project and product initiatives. Customer centric development is one of our success factors and our Designers have a big role to play driving that mindset. Now, we need to strengthen our team with a skilled and driven UI Designer. This is considered to be a key role where you get a lot of freedom to execute your design.  

Key Responsibilities 

You will be working on our Framework designing and developing this to fully support our customer needs. In collaboration with stakeholders, developers and product owners you are responsible for the design of the product securing excellent user experience and consistency as well as the strategic design vision of the product. We are currently improving our way of working with design system and we want you to take lead and responsibility for this work, continuously developing it. Operationally you will produce graphic elements, assets, and visual artefacts in line with the design. We use Sketch and Invision as our main tools for design.  

Who you are 

You will work across multiple teams, with many different stakeholders and contacts which put high demands on your collaboration and communication skills. We expect you to be self-driven and comfortable taking the lead in discussions and workshops, with energy and drive and a “can-do” attitude. It’s also important that you are comfortable to present and argue for your design decisions to stakeholders, product owner and fellow designers. As we are constantly growing the team and our products we need you to join us in our continuous improvement work to find better and smarter and more fun ways of working. To be able to take on this role we think that you have a few years of experience within the field and a relevant education.
