What do we offer?
This role is within our Consumer Commercial Digital Products (Consumer Digital) team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. There’s no reason the experience of buying a car should be painful and difficult – it should be as enjoyable and exciting as actually having a new car. That is our mission. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars. 

What’s in it for you?
You will be responsible for developing front end (or full stack) software for consumer facing products and e-commerce solutions across more than 80 countries.  Your responsibilities will include rapid development of prototypes/concepts, and regular product development.

You should have start-up experience where you have quickly developed prototypes and catalysed product development in a fast paced, fluid environment.  You are a hands-on developer with front-end (or full-stack) experience.  You are experienced with agile development and a champion of software development best practices.
This position is located in Volvo’s new Stockholm Software Technology Centre or in Volvo’s Gamlestaden office in Gothenburg.

You and your skills
You are experienced as a front-end software engineer, designing and creating code, and served as a tech lead. Your knowledge of front-end development, including responsive interface, single page applications and using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Next.js or Gatsby. We are using React and Next.js.

* You also have knowledge of HTML5 and CSS along with authoring tools & understanding of Service Oriented Architectures.
* Experience of SiteCore or CMS development important. 
* Strong understanding of multiple languages, including one of C#, Java, JavaScript
* Experience developing code with AWS, Azure, or other major cloud providers 
* Experience with Next.js, other React frameworks or Node.js Server Side Rendering

To succeed in this role, you need to have a minimum of 3 years of work experience developing front-end software. You have gained strong software design skills and knowledge of design patterns. You should also have expertise in and experience in developing consumer-facing products as well as experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools (Jira).
A bachelor’s degree or similar is a merit.

You share our passion for cars and developments in the auto industry. If you have experience in Full-stack development, it is considered a big plus. Also, if you have understanding of CMS systems, such as SiteCore, and have understanding of Microsoft .NET and Azure technologies and experience of developing mobile applications is considered as preferred experience.
