WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for a Data Engineering Chapter Lead who thrives when providing leadership to teams and engineers building data and machine learning systems. In this role you enjoy helping individuals develop to be their best and cultivate a customer-centric and agile engineering culture. We believe you have previous experience working on - and you are passionate about - (big) data and machine learning systems. Your growth mindset drives you to continuously renew and improve ways of working.
In short we believe you are passionate about:
• leading and developing a team of data and machine learning engineers
• data and machine learning systems, and the challenges they can tackle
• developing and shipping software that meet customers’ needs
• scalable, distributed and resilient systems
• DevOps, CI/CD and Agile engineering culture and practices
We believe you have +5 years of relevant experience in leadership and data/machine learning engineering roles.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will
• serve a group of data and machine learning engineers as manager through hiring, coaching, and career development
• be a leader, advisor and partner for multiple teams in delivery, operations and technological health for data and machine learning products
• provide guidance and collaborate with engineers and product managers on data, machine learning, and engineering and
• be a customer to and advocate for the platform teams that provide tools and data to our product-focused teams.
OUR TEAM WITHIN IKEA
The Data & Analytics team enables and drives IKEA’s digital agenda using data and analytics, from insights to to real-time/streaming data and machine learning systems that enable personalized experiences for our customers. We work end-to-end over the digital product lifecycle in cross-functional product teams, using modern technologies and practices to deliver greatness at speed.
We are a diverse team coming from all over the world with a shared passion for data and analytics. We work hard with a strong spirit of togetherness whilst having fun, in an inclusive, transparent and down-to-earth work environment.
We build our products using modern tooling, cloud platforms and mostly open source technologies and standards. Our data and analytics systems are primarily built in Python and Scala on Google Cloud Platform where we leverage BigQuery, DataFlow/Apache Beam, Spark, GCP ML Engine/TensorFlow, Composer/Apache Airflow, Kafka and Google Pub/Sub.
