Software Enginner- for Air Mission Planning

Your role

As a developer, you will work with the entire development chain. From concept, design and programming, to delivery of complete product. You will interface with internal and external customers and work with them to meet their needs. Your profile

Previous work experience of development projects is an advantage but not a requirement. Experience from open source development and own leisure projects in software development is also meriting. An adequate collage education would be a college education focused on system development/IT. Previous experience of C# / C++, Visual Studio / Eclipse and agile development methods such as Scrum are merit.

The employment involves work covered by defense secrecy and requirements for Swedish citizenship.

What you will be a part of

You will be a part of the Gripen project and work with the Gripen support systems, which are an important help for the aircraft with planning and evaluation of data before and after flight. The team you will join consists primarily of system engineers based in Linköping.

The area Air Mission Planning and Analysis Systems within Aeronautics develops support systems for, among others, Gripen. The Mission Support System (MSS) is one of these and is a tactical mission planning and evaluation system for Gripen. MSS consists of a number of applications that run on a powerful PC. In the system, the pilot can for example handle orders, create routes, plan communication, sensors and get support to make fuel calculations. When planning is complete, the mission is loaded to the aircraft. When the plane lands again the recorded mission is evaluated and together with analyze of data from the plane sensors, a mission report can be completed. The system is today operational with customers in several different countries.
